Oncology is a constantly changing field of medicine and trainees require access to up-to-date knowledge and research evidence. In addition to this core knowledge, trainees require the skills to find, interpret and determine the validity and reliability of published research; and identify and overcome the barriers to introducing the evidence into their practice for the benefit of patients. e-Oncology will provide the foundation on which their clinical training programmes can further develop these skills.
e-Oncology is made up of a number of modules that follow a clinical case or a thematic strand of the core curriculum. Modules within the core curriculum include:

Each learning session delivers specific learning objectives defined in the curriculum and will be created by one or more authors. A Module Editor will oversee the development of all learning sessions within a specific module and will work closely with the Clinical Project Leads to ensure the curriculum requirements are delivered.
Learning sessions can include reading, knowledge discovery, formative assessment, case scenarios, matching exercises, watching video and other approaches. There are ideas shared amongst the contributors and between projects, so innovation is desired to make this successful and worthwhile.
