e-Den, the national elearning initiative encompassing dentistry’s foundation years, is now open for access to all members of the dentistry team, including associate dentists and dental care professionals such as dental nurses, dental hygienists, dental technicians and dental therapists.
The project is the first major collaboration between the four dental faculties of the Royal Colleges of Surgeons of England, Edinburgh and Glasgow and the Department of Health’s elearning for Healthcare (elfh) programme. The project was first made available on 31st March 2010 initially to dental foundation trainees and Postgraduate Dental Deanery staff.
e-Den is available nationwide and is free of charge to all members of the dentistry team who are operating within an NHS contract. It is a valuable tool for supporting postgraduate training for dentistry and promotes a consistent standard of knowledge, skills and expertise across the country.
With almost 100 elearning sessions across six modules now live on the system, the project continues to go from strength to strength.
