New learning resources have been added to the Recognising and Managing Deterioration elearning programme. The National Early Warning Score (NEWS) in Mental Health Settings training comprises of 2 parts.

The NEWS in Mental Health Settings elearning session was developed by Health Education England in collaboration with Cheshire & Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, for staff involved in the care of patients with mental health conditions.

The session aims to provide learners with an overview of NEWS and how it can be used in the recognition and response to deterioration. Learners will also understand the purpose of the SBARD communication tool and reflect on case studies.

Our Train the Trainer package includes all sections of the NEWS in Mental Health settings elearning in a PowerPoint format, and can be used in a facilitated learning session. To read more about these resources, visit the Recognising and Managing Deterioration programme page.
