About the Pharmacy ‘A Day in the Life' programme
This programme aims to support the gap in work experience opportunities and provide national online work-related learning content. It is an interactive and immersive VR360 app designed to act as an alternative to work experience for young people (16-18).
The app will be accessible for download (VR headset, mobile phone and tablet) and through a browser for web-based learning.
The learning objectives in these online work-related learning modules will allow learners to gain new insights into what it is like to work in Pharmacy; gain an understanding of the wide variety of roles within Pharmacy, feel better able to make an informed choice about a career in Pharmacy and to increase understanding of the qualifications, skills and attributes required to work in Pharmacy.
There are three pharmacy settings available:
- Community Pharmacy
- Hospital Pharmacy
- GP Pharmacy
Each setting introduces healthcare professionals sharing their experience of working within the pharmacy profession and the career path they chose. It also shows them at their work with patient / practitioner scenarios.

The Pharmacy ‘A Day in the Life’ links closely to the Pharmacy Careers Website. On this website you will find case studies, additional information about Pharmacy roles, university / college courses and an interactive pharmacy map to help find the perfect role for you.

If you are an Educator, to access this programme, you will require a Learning Hub account. If you do not have one, then you can register by selecting the Register button below. Note that if you hold a full elfh account, you can sign into the Learning Hub using your existing login credentials.
If you are a school age student, please create an account on the Healthcare Horizons platform via https://healthcarehorizons.thinkific.com and search for Pharmacy ‘A Day in the Life’.

Not an NHS organisation?
