Health Education England (HEE) is undertaking a pilot programme to build capacity and capability for workforce redesign across whole system pathways by funding training posts for health psychologists embedded in NHS practice: Health Psychology Workforce Transformation Programme | Health Education England (hee.nhs.uk)
This toolkit includes elearning to enhance the practice of trainee health psychologists starting their journey in the health and care sector in workforce redesign. The toolkit is broadly aligned to the aspirations of the NHS People Plan and People Promise, and to the requirements of the British Psychological Society (BPS) Qualification in Health Psychology/Stage 2 training.
Topics covered include working with patients and the public, safeguarding and risk management, public health, equality diversity and inclusion, behaviour change, leadership and project management and digital and data management skills.
It is suggested that trainees complete all modules, unless there is duplication with modules required by host organisations. Modules can be completed in any order and can be undertaken gradually throughout the programme.
This training has been curated to complement the BPS QHP requirements and learning outcomes for trainee Health Psychologists. However the elearning within the toolkit is not exhaustive and other resources and experiences should be sought by candidates to fulfil their learning needs.
