The Supervision for Multi-Professional Teams programme (initiated by the General Practice Nursing Ten Point Plan) aims to facilitate knowledge on methodologies and principles of core supervision in the workplace.
The programme will provide an overview of the Core Supervision model through several resources including a core model and operational resources.
This elearning programme has been developed in partnership with NHS England and NHS Improvement and Health Education England and complements the core model and resources.
One of the actions from The GPN 10 Point Plan was to develop a model of supervision for primary care nursing. This objective has been completed and a ‘Core model of supervision for multi-professional teams’ has been published to support GPNs and other health professionals.
The GPN 10 Point Plan used an investment of £15 million from the General Practice Forward View (GPFV) funding allocation to support action which will address the significant workforce challenges and support improvements in general practice nursing (GPN) by March 2021.
The plan was led by the Chief Nursing Officer for England and its overarching focus is to build and develop the capacity and capability that we need to see across the whole primary care workforce in order to enable us to manage more people’s health closer to home, as well as building GPN capability to support improved and innovative approaches in delivering health and wellbeing.
